A perfect sea day on Virgin Voyages
Checked against the cruise line’s own pages. Policies change, so we confirm the details on your booking before you pay.
A great Virgin Voyages sea day has an easy rhythm: move in the morning, slow down by the pool at midday, say yes to a Happening or two in the afternoon, then dinner, a show and The Manor. Almost all of it is included in your fare. The spa, alcohol, specialty coffee and a few extras cost more. What follows is our suggested plan, built from what Virgin offers onboard. Virgin posts the real schedule for each day in the app under Discover > Lineup, so check it over coffee.
Morning: breakfast and a workout
Start early at The Perch. The Perch is the open deck on Deck 17, and Virgin says every morning there starts with sunrise yoga.
Take a class. Group fitness classes are included: HIIT, barre, yoga, spin, bungee and more. You sign up in the app, and only once you’re onboard. Virgin says select classes carry a no-show fee, so cancel in the app if your plans change.
Or train on your own. The gym is midship on Deck 15 (hours are in the app). The Runway is an outdoor running track of roughly 255 meters. The Athletic Club has a boxing ring, a basketball court and oversized games, and there’s a pickleball court, a bit smaller than regulation.
Then breakfast. The Galley’s 24-hour American diner and bakery need no reservation, and free drip coffee is there around the clock. Razzle Dazzle is the sit-down spot by day. Brunch at the sit-down restaurants is booked like dinner, and if you can’t get a slot, Virgin points you to The Galley. Barista coffee at The Grounds Club costs extra.
Prefer breakfast in bed? Order it on your Cabin Tablet through ShipEats by 2 AM and it’s delivered between 5 and 11 AM.
Late morning: Redemption Spa
Redemption Spa usually opens at 6 AM and closes at 10 PM. Its Thermal Suite has a mud room, salt room, sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunge pools and heated marble hammam benches. A Thermal Suite Day Pass and treatments cost extra, and you book them in the app or at the spa. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead, and leave your drink outside: drinks aren’t allowed in the Thermal Suite.
Midday: pool and a walk-in lunch
The Aquatic Club pool deck has daybeds and a full bar, and the Sun Club bar sits on the sun deck above it. The Well-being Pool is next to Gym & Tonic, the juice and smoothie bar. Up on Deck 17, The Perch is the quieter sun deck. For a private spot, the ship rents 10 cabanas, open 9 AM to 6 PM on sea days, each with its own server.
Lunch needs no planning. These take walk-ins:
| Spot | What you get |
|---|---|
| The Galley | Food hall: bakery, burgers, tacos, sushi, noodles, soup and salad, 24-hour diner |
| The Dock and The Dock House | Mediterranean small plates, outdoors or in |
| The Sun Club Café | Hawaiian-Asian bites |
| The Pizza Place | Made-to-order pizza |
| The Social Club | Comfort food plus shuffleboard and games |
| Quickeze | Grab-and-go |
Afternoon: Happenings
Virgin skipped the cruise director and built the Happenings Cast, a crew of 12 who run the daytime program: trivia with prizes, group art projects and more. Pick one or two from the Lineup. The Shops at High Street are open all day on sea days, and Squid Ink, the tattoo studio, runs 10 AM to 10 PM.
Ship notes. Valiant Lady came out of dry dock in June 2026 with more than 20 new Happenings, among them Silent Sweat at The Perch, a chess tournament called Check, Please and a pub quiz called Knees Up. Valiant also has Sun Society, a 90-minute poolside party on The Aquatic Club pool deck. It runs on select sea days of her Caribbean voyages from October 19, 2026, weather permitting. Virgin describes it as exclusive to Valiant Lady.
Evening: dinner and a show
For a pre-dinner drink, Virgin says The Perch turns into a social space at sunset, with Champagne. On the Rocks starts its evenings with live music. Dinner is your reserved restaurant (see dining reservations).
Shows have no reserved seats, so get there a little early. They’re included, except Another Rose and dinner shows like It’s a Ship Show.
Late night
The Manor is the nightclub, on Decks 6 and 7. When you get hungry, The Pizza Place is made for late-night slices, The Galley’s diner never closes and ShipEats delivers 24/7 (a $10 fee applies to orders under $10). The casino stays open until Sailors are ready to call it a night.
If tonight is Scarlet Night, swap the evening for our Scarlet Night guide. For what each of these costs, see what’s included.
