Virgin Voyages dining reservations: when and how to book

Checked against the cruise line’s own pages. Policies change, so we confirm the details on your booking before you pay.

Virgin Voyages dining reservations open in the Virgin Voyages App on a date set by your fare: 15 days before sailing on Base and Lock It In rates, 45 days on Essential, 60 days on Premium and 120 days in RockStar Quarters, for bookings made since October 7, 2025. Every restaurant is included in your fare, so a reservation costs nothing. It just guarantees the table. Virgin’s advice is to book the moment your window opens, and we agree.

When your window opens

Your fare or cabinDining opens
Lock It In or Base15 days before sailing
Essential45 days before sailing
Premium60 days before sailing
RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters120 days before sailing

These windows apply to bookings made on or after October 7, 2025. Older bookings use windows set by cabin type instead, so check the app or ask us for your exact date. If you’re still picking a fare, the dining window is one of the real differences between them; see how booking works.

Entertainment and tattoos are a different story: those are booked once you’re on board.

How to book

You can make dining reservations three ways:

  • in the Virgin Voyages App,
  • in My Account on virginvoyages.com, or
  • through your First Mate, Virgin’s name for your travel advisor. If you booked with us, that’s us.

Both brunch and dinner can be booked. Once you’re on the ship, you change or cancel reservations in the app’s Planner tab, or at any of the restaurants.

Dining with friends from other cabins

This is where groups trip up. To add Sailors who aren’t in your cabin, they must first be connected with you as friends or contacts in the Virgin Voyages App. Once they are, you can book brunch or dinner for more people than are in your cabin.

For the best chance of a table together, Virgin recommends contacting Sailor Services before the voyage. Bigger tables are always subject to availability, and extra seats aren’t guaranteed.

Our tip: connect everyone in the app before the first person’s window opens, and agree on who books which night.

What needs a reservation (and what doesn’t)

Virgin says its six signature restaurants are the popular ones and recommends reserving them before you sail. These eateries take walk-ins, no reservation needed:

Walk-in eateryWhat it is
The GalleyFood hall with carts and counters, including a 24-hour American diner
The Dock and Dock HouseMediterranean-inspired small plates
The Sun Club CaféHawaiian and Asian-inspired bites
The Pizza PlaceMade-to-order pizza, a late-night favorite
The Social ClubComfort bites and games
QuickezeGrab-and-go
ShipEatsIn-cabin delivery, 24/7

The sit-down restaurants on Virgin’s dining page are The Wake (steak and seafood), Razzle Dazzle, Pink Agave (upscale Mexican), Extra Virgin (Italian), Gunbae (Korean BBQ) and The Test Kitchen. Those are the ones we book ahead.

What changes by ship

Most of the lineup is fleet-wide, but Razzle Dazzle’s space turns into something different at night depending on the ship:

ShipEvening restaurant in the Razzle Dazzle space
Scarlet LadyLucky Lotus (Chinese-inspired)
Valiant LadyAriya (modern Indian, since May 2026)
Resilient LadyRazzle Dazzle by Night (New American)
Brilliant LadyRojo (Spanish)

Extra Virgin also serves some menu items exclusive to each ship. Virgin doesn’t publish a full restaurant list per ship beyond this, so we confirm your ship’s lineup when your window opens.

If you miss out

Don’t panic. Keep checking the app, because cancellations happen and tables reappear. Once onboard, visit the restaurant or Sailor Services to join a waitlist; the Crew works through no-shows and cancellations, though space is limited. And the walk-in eateries above never need a booking.

Dietary needs and allergies

  • Virgin’s kitchens are not allergen-free, but Virgin says it can accommodate most dietary needs.
  • Contact Sailor Services about allergies or specific requests before you sail, then tell the Crew once you’re onboard (Virgin’s dining FAQ also says to tell the Crew at each eatery).
  • Every eatery has at least one vegetarian option, and Razzle Dazzle has plant-based vegan and vegetarian versions of classics.
  • Virgin does not offer certified Kosher or Halal meals.

What costs extra

The meals are included, but a few things aren’t: Treat Yourself items on select menus, dinner shows like Another Rose and It’s a Ship Show, caviar service at SIP Lounge, and a $10 ShipEats delivery fee (waived on orders of $10 or more, and in RockStar Quarters). The full list is in what’s included.

Quick answers

It depends on your fare. For bookings made on or after October 7, 2025, reservations open 15 days before sailing on Lock It In and Base, 45 days on Essential, 60 days on Premium and 120 days in RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters.

Do I need a reservation for every restaurant on Virgin Voyages?

Can Virgin Voyages handle food allergies?

Virgin says its kitchens are not allergen-free but can accommodate most dietary needs. Contact Sailor Services about allergies before you sail and tell the Crew once onboard. Virgin does not offer certified Kosher or Halal meals.
