Virgin Voyages loyalty: the Sailing Club and repeat-sailor perks
Checked against the cruise line’s own pages. Policies change, so we confirm the details on your booking before you pay.
Virgin Voyages’ loyalty program is the Sailing Club. Complete one eligible voyage and you’re in automatically. After two, you unlock Blue Extras for your third and fourth sailings, and after four you unlock Deep Blue Extras from your fifth sailing on. Tiers aren’t based on spending: they’re a count of full-fare voyages. Repeat Sailors also get the My Next Virgin Voyage (MNVV) offer onboard and the annual Red Hot Sailing Club voyages.
The tiers
| Tier | You unlock it after | Perks (per eligible Sailor) |
|---|---|---|
| Sailing Club | 1 eligible voyage | Members-only offers, sent by email |
| Blue Extras | 2 eligible voyages (used on voyages 3 and 4) | Dedicated Sailor Services support, a Sailing Club cocktail event, 1 bag of laundry, 1 specialty coffee a day |
| Deep Blue Extras | 4 eligible voyages (used on voyage 5 and up) | $100 promotional Bar Tab, unlimited Premium WiFi where available, priority boarding, dedicated support, cocktail event, laundry (2 pressed items, 1 specialty-cleaned item, 1 bag), 2 specialty coffees a day |
A few details from Virgin’s terms that matter in practice:
- Credit takes 30 days. A voyage counts toward your total 30 days after it ends. If you sail back to back, a tier you qualify for on the first sailing won’t apply on the second.
- Some perks extend to your cabin mate. Priority boarding lets your cabin mate join you if you arrive together, and they can come to the cocktail event. The Bar Tab, WiFi, laundry and coffee are for the qualifying Sailor only.
- Coffee is at bars and restaurants, not through room service, and coffee cocktails don’t count.
- Sailors from Virgin’s first years (Sea-Blazers and Sea-Rovers) already have Deep Blue Extras.
Not sure where you stand? Virgin says Sailor Services, shoreside or onboard, and the Future Voyage Sales team onboard can tell you how many qualifying voyages you have.
What counts as an eligible voyage
This is where people lose perks. Virgin counts full-fare sailings only. Excluded voyages don’t count toward your total, and you don’t get perks you’ve already earned while sailing on them. Virgin’s exclusions include:
- casino (loyalty) bookings and free access key giveaways,
- First Mate rates and interline rates,
- employee, vendor and other reduced fares,
- gifted cruises and voyages bought with airline points.
Base, Essential and Premium fares all qualify for bookings made since October 7, 2025. If a deal looks unusually cheap, we check whether it counts before you book. Our booking guide explains the fares.
Virgin Red points
Sailing Club members also collect Virgin Points every time they sail, which can be redeemed through Virgin Red, the rewards program shared across Virgin brands.
Status Match (closed for now)
Virgin has run a Status Match more than once. The latest invited members of airline, hotel and cruise loyalty programs to apply for one sailing with Blue Extras. Applications closed October 31, 2026, and the access keys work on bookings made through December 3, 2026. The perks applied once, to the primary Sailor only, and did not make Blue Extras permanent. If Virgin opens another round, we’ll tell you.
Red Hot Sailing Club voyages
Each year Virgin runs special sailings built around Sailing Club members, with member events, cocktail hours, curated Shore Things and sessions with Virgin’s leadership team. Virgin announced two for 2027:
| Dates | From | Ship |
|---|---|---|
| July 4 to 11, 2027 (7 nights) | Athens, with stops including Santorini, Crete, Kusadasi and an overnight in Mykonos | Scarlet Lady |
| November 8 to 13, 2027 (5 nights) | Miami, including The Beach Club at Bimini | Valiant Lady |
Anyone can book them, but Sailing Club members get the extra recognition.
My Next Virgin Voyage (MNVV)
MNVV is Virgin’s offer for booking your next trip while you’re still onboard. You put down a $150 deposit and get a fare discount plus onboard credit when you book:
| Voyage length | Fare discount | Onboard credit |
|---|---|---|
| 4 to 5 nights | $150 | $150 |
| 6 to 8 nights | $200 | $200 |
| 9+ nights | $250 | $250 |
The rules that matter: you have two years from purchase to choose a voyage, and Virgin’s FAQ now says that voyage can sail even more than two years out. Cancel within 7 days for a full refund; after that the deposit becomes a Future Voyage Credit good for one year, and you lose the discount and credit. MNVVs bought on or after August 6, 2026 can’t be transferred to someone else. They work on most Sea Terrace cabins and the suites, not on Insider, Sea View or Lock It In rates, and sailings under 4 nights don’t qualify. Our Virgin Voyages FAQ has the full MNVV fine print.
If you booked your last sailing with us, Virgin notifies us when you buy an MNVV onboard, so we can help you choose the voyage when you’re ready.
Quick answers
Does Virgin Voyages have a loyalty program?
Yes, the Sailing Club. You're enrolled automatically after one eligible paid voyage. Blue Extras kick in on your third and fourth voyages, and Deep Blue Extras from your fifth.
What do you get with Deep Blue Extras on Virgin Voyages?
Per Virgin's terms: a $100 promotional Bar Tab, unlimited Premium WiFi where available, priority boarding, a Sailing Club cocktail event, dedicated Sailor Services support, laundry service and two specialty coffees a day.
Which Virgin voyages count toward the Sailing Club?
Full-fare sailings. Virgin excludes voyages booked with free or discounted access keys, casino comps, interline and First Mate rates and other reduced fares. Base, Essential and Premium fares all count for bookings made since October 7, 2025.
Does Virgin Voyages status match other loyalty programs?
It did, as a limited-time offer. The latest Status Match took applications until October 31, 2026, gave one sailing of Blue Extras perks, and its access keys could be used on bookings made through December 3, 2026.
How long do I have to use a My Next Virgin Voyage deposit?
Two years from the day you buy it to book a voyage. Once booked, Virgin's FAQ says the sailing itself can be more than two years out. The deposit is $150 and can only be bought onboard.
